Icemen Goaltender Ratzlaff Named ECHL Rookie of the Month

JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Icemen, ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Buffalo Sabres and the AHL’s Rochester Americans are pleased to announce that goaltender Scott Ratzlaff has been named the Howies Hockey Tape ECHL Rookie of the Month for October.
Ratzlaff, who is under a National Hockey League contract with Buffalo, went 3-0-0 with a 1.29 goals-against average and a save percentage of .966 in three appearances during the opening month of the ECHL season.
The 20-year-old stopped 38 of 39 shots in his pro debut in a 2-1 win on Oct. 18 at Greensboro, turned aside 42 shots in a 4-2 win at Greenville on Oct. 24 and made 32 saves in a 3-1 victory at Utah on Oct. 29.
Prior to turning pro, Ratzlaff saw action in 160 career games with Seattle of the Western Hockey League where he went 87-55-8 with eight shutouts, a 2.90 goals-against average and a save percentage of .909.
SOUTH CAROLINA ACQUIRES FORWARD TANNER EDWARDS

 The South Carolina Stingrays, ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Washington Capitals and AHL’s Hershey Bears, have acquired forward Tanner Edwards from the Toledo Walleye. Edwards is in his first year of professional hockey and comes to the Stingrays after making his professional debut for the Walleye on October 25 against the Bloomington Bison.

Prior to turning pro, the Anchorage, AK native played five seasons of NCAA Division I hockey for Minnesota State-Mankato from 2020-2024 before transferring to the University of Alaska-Anchorage. Last season, Edwards had three goals and five assists across 31 games for the Seawolves.

While at Minnesota State, the 6-0, 170-pound forward helped the club win the CCHA Championship in 2021-22 and 2022-23. Edwards was also teammates with Stingrays forward Kaden Bohlsen during the 2023-24 season at Minnesota State.

SOLAR BEARS SIGN RETURNING FOWARD JACK ADAMS

The Orlando Solar Bears, ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Tampa Bay Lightning, announced the signing of returning forward Jack Adams to a contract for the 2025-26 season.

Adams, 28, joins the Solar Bears for his second season with the team. The Boxford, Massachusetts native finished third on the team in scoring with 44 points on 15 goals and 29 assists during the 2024-25 season.

Adams finished fifth in ECHL rookie scoring during the 2023-24 campaign putting up 62 points (27g-35a) in 71 games with the South Carolina Stingrays and was the recipient of the ECHL’s Community Service Award.

Prior to his professional career, the 6-foot-6, 209-pound forward played in five seasons of college hockey at Union College (2017-20), Providence College (2020-21), University of Notre Dame (2021-23), scoring 64 points (27g-37a) in 142 games. While at Union, Adams was an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) All-Academic Student Athlete during the 2017-18 season.

FLORIDA EVERBLADES AGREE TO TERMS WITH KYLE NEUBER

The Florida Everblades, ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s St. Louis Blues and the AHL’s Springfield Thunderbirds, announced that the team has agreed to terms with forward Kyle Neuber to a standard player contract.

Neuber, 36, enters his seventh season with the Everblades. Last season, he scored one goal with three assists in 37 regular season games alongside 130 penalty minutes, before adding two goals and an assist in 12 playoff games. Neuber has played 282 games in an Everblades sweater, scoring 19 goals and 26 assists for 45 points while racking up a franchise-leading 894 penalty minutes. Neuber won Kelly Cups with Florida in all three seasons during the team’s dynasty run from 2022-2024.

Prior to joining the Everblades, Neuber played 28 games with the Reading Royals and Allen Americans, winning the 2016 Kelly Cup with Allen. He also played 52 AHL games with the Syracuse Crunch, Springfield Falcons, Toronto Marlies, and Tuscon Roadrunners.

A native of London, Ontario, Neuber played two years of junior hockey belonging to the Walpole Island Wild, Toronto St. Michael’s Majors and the St. Michael’s Buzzers before playing two consecutive seasons with the Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors and ending his junior hockey career with the Sarnia Sting. He was drafted 197th overall in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft by the Columbus Blue Jackets.
