MLS RECAP: Orlando City SC Falls to Atlanta United FC 3-2

ATLANTA – A 10-manOrlando City SC (7-3-6, 27 points)fell 3-2 to Atlanta United FC (4-7-5, 17 points) at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Wednesday night. The result ended the Lions’ unbeaten streak in league play at 12 games, tying the previous club record set in 2020.

César Araújo put City on the board with a long-range effort in just the fourth minute of play before the home side equalized via Alexey Miranchuk 15 minutes later. Ramiro Enrique restored the Lions’ lead in the 32nd minute after pouncing on a failed clearance from an Atlanta defender and beating Brad Guzan at the near post. Orlando City held the lead until a 77th-minute red card to César Araújo opened the game up and saw Atlanta score two goals in the final seven minutes of the match.

The Lions will next return to the City Beautiful for their ninth game in 28 days as they host Chicago Fire FC to wrap up a congested May schedule on Saturday, May 31. Kickoff from Inter&Co Stadium is set for 7:30 p.m. ET, with the match airing live on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.

  • Midfielder César Araújo scored his second goal of 2025 and his seventh all-time for the Lions.

  • Head Coach Oscar Pareja made three changes to the Starting XI after his side’s last match against the Portland Timbers, with Ramiro Enrique, Joran Gerbet and Martín Ojeda all returning to the starting lineup.
