JACKSONVILLE (Florida Sports Wire) – Leading most of the game, the Jacksonville Jaguars (2-8) couldn’t finish off the Minnesota Vikings (7-2) Sunday in a 12-7 loss at TIAA Bank Field.

The visitors took a 9-7 lead with 7:14 to play in the game on John Parker Romo’s third field goal of the game. Romo, who signed this week after rookie kicker Will Reichard landed on injured reserve, scored Minnesota’s only points of the afternoon.

It was downhill for the Jaguars at that point.

A botched snap on the Jaguars next possession gave the Viking a first down on the Jacksonville 25. Romo would connect on another kick.

Quarterback Mac Jones threw an interception on the Jaguars next possession. Jones completed 14-of-22 passes for 111 yards and rushed for one touchdown in his first start for the Jaguars,

The Jaguars scored on a Jones’ one-yard run. He started at quarterback from an injured Trevor Lawrence.

Minnesota QB Sam Darnold was intercepted three times inside the Jaguars 30. Darnold actually was picked off a fourth time on a deep ball intended for Jordan Addison, but the play was called back thanks to a hands-to-the-face penalty on Tyson Campbell.

The Jaguars’ three interceptions ties for most interceptions in a game this season in the NFL.

Darnold finished the day 24-of-38 passing for 241 yards and the three interceptions. He was sacked once for a loss of 7.

Minnesota Vikings safety Camryn Bynum hit his ‘Raygun’ celebration after intercepting Jones in the final moments to seal the win.
