TAMPA (Florida Sports Wire) – The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars, 30-12, for their fourth consecutive victory and to improve to 8-7 on the season.
Quarterback Baker Mayfield completed 26-of-35 passes for 283 yards and two touchdowns to zero interceptions. Mike Evans brought in seven receptions for 86 yards and two TDs.
The Bucs’ Rachaad White finished with 77 yards from scrimmage, gaining 39 on the ground and 38 as a receiver while adding one rushing score. Chase McLaughlin converted all three-field goal tries, connecting from 24, 31 and 51 yards.
Tampa Bay’s four-straight wins mark their first four-game regular season winning streak within a single season since Weeks 11-14 of the 2021 season. The Buccaneers are one of three teams that are currently on a winning streak of four-or-more games, joining the Baltimore Ravens (four) and San Francisco 49ers (six). Tampa Bay’s 18-point margin of victory is the team’s largest since defeating the Carolina Panthers 41-17 in Week 18 of the 2021 season.
Tampa Bay produced 335 net yards of offense, its fifth-most in a game this season. The Buccaneers’ 265 net passing yards marked their third-most in a game this season. Tampa Bay held a 37:07-22:53 time of possession advantage, their largest disparity in a game this season and largest disparity since posting a 39:56-20:04 edge over the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 6 of the 2021 season.
The Buccaneers limited Jacksonville to 305 net yards of offense, Tampa Bay’s fifth fewest allowed in a game this season. Tampa Bay improved to 7-0 in games in which they hold their opponent to 370-or-fewer net yards of offense in a game.
Jacksonville QB Trevor Lawrence completed 17 of 29 passes for 211 yards and a touchdown.
“It’s really bad to put this on the field the last three or four weeks,” Lawrence said. “It’s a problem. You want to be playing the best football at the end of the season going into the postseason. We’re playing our worst. So we need to find answers and we need to find answers quick.
Lawrence’s 18-yard pass to wide receiver Calvin Ridley in the third quarter cut the lead to 30-6. With Lawrence out with a shoulder injury, backup QB C.J. Beathard’s one-yard pass to Ridley with 4:35 remaining cut the lead to 30-12.
Tampa Bay held Jacksonville to just 37 net rushing yards, the fewest they’ve allowed in a game this season and the fewest since Week 4 of the 2021 season against the New England Patriots when New England finished with -1 net rushing yards.
The 37 rushing yards from Jacksonville marked their lowest production in a game this season, and their worst output since Week 18 of the 2022 season against Tennessee when they finished with 19 net rushing yards.
Tampa Bay converted 10-of-19 (52.6%) third-down opportunities, tied for its most successful third-down conversions in a game since the start of the 2018 season.
