AUGUSTA, Ga. – Flagler College second baseman Payton Palladino was selected as the Peach Belt Conference’s Freshman of the Week for the period ending March 31, according to a release by conference officials this afternoon.
Palladino batted .333 in four games last week as the Saints won all four games. He went 5-for-15 with two doubles, two home runs, eight runs batted in and he scored a team-high 10 runs.
The Danvers, Massachusetts native went 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBI, and he scored three runs in a 15-3 win over Claflin University. In game one on Saturday, Palladino went 1-for-3 with a home run, was hit by a pitch twice, drew a walk, scored four runs, and knocked in four more runs in a 28-5 rout of Claflin.
In the second game Saturday, he hit two doubles, scored three runs and drove in a run in a 17-0 win.
