JACKSONVILLE (Florida Sports Wire) – The National Football League today suspended Jaguars offensive linemam Cam Robinson for the first four games of the 2023 regular season for violating the NFL Policy on Performance-Enhancing Substances.
“As a veteran leader in the locker room, I always want to set a good example and my actions in this instance are not a reflection of that goal,” Robinson said. “I apologize to the fans, my coaches and, most importantly, my teammates. It hurts me that I cannot be out there with my brothers at the start of the regular season. I will attack training camp the same way I have for the last six seasons, to make sure I am ready both mentally and physically.”
Robinson is eligible to participate in all preseason practices and games. He will be allowed to return to the Jaguars’ active roster on Monday, Oct. 2, following the team’s Week 4 game vs. Atlanta.
In statement the club said “We are aware of the four-game suspension incurred today byCam Robinson. While we certainly respect the NFL’s ruling and are disappointed with this development, we will support Cam as he works his way through the suspension. We are confident that Cam and our team will rise above this challenge as we collectively move forward.”
LEAGUE SUSPENDS FOUR PLAYERS FOR GAMBLING
The NFL confirmed today that three players have been indefinitely suspended for violating the league’s gambling policy. One other player was suspended six games.
Isaiah Rodgers and Rashod Berry of the Indianapolis Colts and free agent Demetrius Taylor are suspended indefinitely through at least the conclusion of the 2023 season for betting on NFL games in the 2022 season. These players may petition for reinstatement at the conclusion of the 2023 season.
Nicholas Petit-Frere of the Tennessee Titans is suspended for the team’s first six regular season games of the 2023 season for betting on non-NFL sports at the club facility. He is eligible to participate in all offseason and preseason activities, including preseason games.
The gambling policy, which is annually reviewed with all NFL personnel, including players, prohibits anyone in the NFL from engaging in any form of gambling in any club or league facility or venue, including the practice facility.
