Jaguars: Bengals Rally and Win with Last Gasp TD

Quarterback Jake Browning came off the bench Sunday to drive the Cincinnati Bengals 92 yards on 15 plays, capping it off with a leaping third-and-goal quarterback sneak with 18 seconds left for a 31-27 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Jacksonville QB Trevor Lawrence recorded 271 passing. Receiver Brian Thomas Jr. had 49 receiving yards.

Bhayshul Tuten registered the first touchdown of his career on an eight-yard completion from Lawrence. Travis Etienne Jr.’s  11-yard touchdown reception, marked the 20th total touchdown of his career. Dyami Brown caught his first touchdown as a Jaguar on a nine-yard completion from Lawrence.

After Joe Burrow exited with a left toe injury, Browning gutted through three interceptions and finished with 241 yards on 21 of 32 passing as the Bengals went to 2-0 for the first time since 2018.

Browning duplicated his overtime win in Jacksonville two years ago when he completed 86.5 percent of his 37 passes for 354 yards.

Receiver Ja’Marr Chase staked his claim with 14 catches, one off his club record, for 165 yards.

Burrow went down with 8:36 left in the first half and was declared out in the second half. He finished the day seven of 13 for 76 yards and a touchdown.

Foyesade Oluokun recorded a three-yard sack on Burrow. Oluokun has at least 1.0 sack in each of the last six seasons. He is currently the only player in the NFL with a sack, an interception and a forced fumble. Oluokun registered two tackles. His 28 tackles for loss since joining the Jaguars in 2022 are ninth most among linebackers in the AFC.

The Jaguars registered three interceptions, marking the third time in team history that the Jaguars had five or more interceptions through the first two games of a season. Jacksonville recorded their second consecutive game with three takeaways.
