Soccer: 10-Man Orlando City SC Falls to Inter Miami CF 3-1

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.  – Orlando City SC will advance to the Leagues Cup 2025 Third-Place Match after falling 3-1 on the road to Inter Miami CF on Wednesday night at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. They will face the loser of the LA Galaxy – Seattle Sounders FC semifinal on Sunday, Aug. 31.

Marco Pašalić scored the opener at the cusp of halftime, capitalizing on a loose ball inside Miami’s box to tally his 14th goal across all competitions. The Lions led the match until they were reduced to ten men in the 77th minute when David Brekalo was adjudged to have committed a foul inside the box and received a second yellow card. Miami equalized on the successive penalty kick and would go on to score twice more in the final three minutes.

  • Forward Marco Pašalić scored his 14th goal of the season across all competitions and his second of the tournament.
  • The goal also served as Pašalić’s third against Miami this season, scoring in both of the Lions’ wins in the regular season.
  • Head Coach Oscar Pareja made seven changes to the Starting XI after the side’s last match against Nashville SC, with Iván Angulo, Eduard Atuesta, David Brekalo, Alex Freeman, Luis Muriel, Martín Ojeda and Marco Pašalić returning to the starting lineup.
