IFL: Sioux Falls Storm Top Jacksonville in the Shark Tank

JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Sharks started off with the lead but going into half time fell behind and couldn’t come back against the Sioux Falls Storm.

The Sharks have yet to figure out the disconnection in the second half. The final score of the game was 42-52, making Jacksonville 1-7 this season.

The Storm won the coin toss and Jacksonville started on offense. After a 30 yard fourth down attempt fell incomplete the Sharks couldn’t score on their 1st drive. The Storm took over on offense and the Sharks Ulric Jones caused a rare turn over, Giving the Sharks a first down at the 13 yard line. The resulting touchdown pass to Tamarrion Terry from Fred Payton Jr gave the Sharks a 7-0.

At the beginning of the second quarter the Storm scored evening the contest. The Sharks scored a Boom Williams touchdown with 11:16 left in the first quarter. Making the score 14-7, sharks. After, a Storm touchdown the game is tied at 14-14.

The Sharks retook the lead with a Tamion Terry 25 yd touchdown pass from Fred Payton Jr. The extra point was good and the score was 21-14, Jacksonville at this point had the Storm trailing the entirety of the game. But the Storm got a quick touchdown pass by Elliers evening the score at 21 all.

After a Sharks turnover, the story of the season so far, the Storm scored again with a touchdown pass and finishing the scoring in the first half at 21-28 Storm. This put the Sharks down 2 possessions going into the 3rd quarter.

The third quarter opened with a 10 yard touchdown run made by the Storm. With the Sharks searching for a second half spark, and only 9 minutes left in the 3rd, QB Fred payton Jr’s pass is picked offe and after another touchdown the score is 21-42, Storm.

The Sharks got a 30 yard pass to Tamarron Terry, leading to a Sharks touchdown run by Fred Peyton Jr. The 3rd quarter wrapped up at 42-27, Storm.

In the fourth quarter, the Sharks needed some stops and big plays to get back into the game but unfortunately they couldn’t get the job done. After a couple exciting plays by the Sharks the clock runs out and the game ends with a final score of 42-52, Storm.

After the game Sharks fans got to meet and greet the Sharks players and Attack dance team and get autographs. The Sharks 1st jersey auction of the year also happened and raised money for the Jacksonville Sharks foundation. Keep an eye out for the next jersey auction at Star Wars night!
