JACKSONVILLE – (Florida Sports Wire) – Bobo Carpenter scored the first and last goals of the game as the Florida Everblades staved off elimination and forced a game seven with a 4-1 victory over the Jacksonville Icemen Tuesday night at Veterans Memorial Arena.
Carpenter now has three goals in the series. Matt Wedman picked up two assists for the visitors.
After a scoreless opening period, Cole Moberg (1) and Logan Lambdin (2) scored goals in the second period.
Justin McRae (1) took a power-play feed from Derek Lodermeier and averted the shutout with five minutes left in the game.
Cam Johnson made 34 saves for Florida. Matt Vernon had 23 stops for the Icemen.
The two clubs meet again Wednesday night to decide the ECHL South Division semifinal. The winner will face the Orlando Solar Bears.
Jaydon Dureau’s two-goal night spearheaded a 5-1 Orlando win over the Greenville Swamp Rabbits on Tuesday to win the South Division Semifinals in six games. With the win, Orlando will advance to the South Division Finals of the Kelly Cup Playoffs.
