The Jacksonville Icemen closed out the opening round of the Kelly Cup playoffs against the Greenville Swamp Rabbit with a 4-2 win. Ara Nazarian (3) scored twice. Craig Martin (4) tallied the go-ahead marker to give the Icemen a 3-2 lead. Greenville would pull the goaltender to allow for the extra attacker in the end but Christopher Brown (1) would seal the game and the series with the empty-net goal. Goaltender Olof Lindbom made 17 saves. The Icemen take the series 4-2 and they advance to the second round of the playoffs against the Florida Everblades beginning this Saturday in Jacksonville.
