Game That Featured Seven Home Runs Goes to Jumbo Shrimp in Extra Innings, 8-7

JACKSONVILLE –– With the bases loaded and no outs Deven Marrero’s walk off single scored two runs to give the Jumbo Shrimp an 8-7 win in 10 innings over the Norfolk Tides Saturday night at 121 Financial Park.

Bryson Brigman and Lewis Brinson scored.

Chance Sisco’s two out fly ball single to left field scored Taylor Davis to give the Norfolk Tides a 7-6 lead going into the bottom of the 10th inning. Sisco was tagged out trying to go to second to end the inning.

The teams combined for seven home runs, but the last one Santiago Chavez’ two-run shot wth one out in the bottom of the ninth tied the game for Jacksonville. He plated Corey Bird who had singled.

After Galli Cribbs drew a walk. Brigman hit a liner to fisrt baseman Domingo Leyba who doubled up Cribbs to end the inning.

Ramon Urias two-run round tripper gave the visitors a 6-4 lead. He drove in Mason McCoy who singled in the previous bat.

Brigman and Jesus Sanchez homered for the Jumbo Shrimp.

Jacksonville starter Josh A. Smith left the game after just seven pitches with an injury.

The two clubs meet again Sunday at 6;35 p.m.
