ARENA: Andrew Jackson High Officially The New Site of Sharks Training Camp

JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Sharks have announced their 2021 training camp schedule today following a very successful open tryout last weekend where over 60 athletes participated.

From local players to athletes who traveled as far north as Pennsylvania and as far west as Oklahoma for the chance to perform in front of the Sharks coaching staff and see if they had what it takes to play professional football.

The defending National Arena League (NAL) champion Jacksonville Sharks officially kicked off their training camp today while the players reported yesterday for physicals.

The Sharks training camp will run through Saturday, May 29 at Andrew Jackson High School in Jacksonville, FL. Players will have Sunday off, while the coaching staff finalizes the Sharks regular season roster. Season practice starts on Monday, May 31st..

Returning players to the Sharks training camp include All-NAL Center Derrick Ziegler, All-NAL receiver Devin Wilson, All-NAL linebacker Zack Brown, All-NAL fullback Alstevis Squirewell, All-NAL offensive lineman Mike Williams and NAL champion QB Mike Fafaul who led the the National Arena League in passing efficiency with a 67.2% rating. Training camp will be open to media Tuesday through Thursday with on-field practices starting at 7:30pm.

Saturday, May 22 the players will have on field workouts beginning at 11am, Saturday’s training camp will be open to the public but please note there will only be limited seating available. The NAL season opener will kickoff on Friday, May 28 with the Carolina Cobras vs. the Jersey Flight at the CURE Insurance Arena in Trenton, NJ. The Sharks will kick off their season opener in Southern California against the NAL’s newest expansion franchise the Ontario Bandits on Friday, June 4 at 10pm (eastern) at the Toyota Arena.
