JU’s Workman Named ASUN Player Of The Week

The ASUN Conference announced its weekely awards on Monday afternoon and Jacksonville forward Bryce Workman has earned his first nod as the Player of the Week, making him the third different Dolphin to earn that distinction this season. 

This is the first-career ASUN Player of the Week award for Workman; 33rd in Jacksonville program history. The junior scored a game, season, career and ASUN season-high of 33 points in Saturday’s win at Stetson; added seven rebounds and three assists in the game. He collected 10 points with seven rebounds, a career-high four assists and one steal on Friday against the Hatters. For the week Workman averaged 21.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists per outing; registered one steal and one block. He shot 66.7 percent (14-of-21) from the field and 93.8 percent (15-of-16) at the free throw line in the two games. 

Workman joins Dontarius James and Kevion Nolan as recipients of this award. Both Nolan and James have also earned Newcomer of the Week distinction and each has swept the weekly awards once. Next up for Jacksonville will be a pair of games inside Swisher Gymnasium opposite FGCU to close out the regular season. The ASUN Championship gets rolling the following week on Mar. 3 with the 8/9 play-in game hosted by Jacksonville followed by the Quarterfinals on Wednesday, Mar. 4. Two of those games will also be hosted by JU with the rest taking place at North Florida.
