ECHL RECAP: Swamp Rabbits Edge Icemen 1-0

JACKSONVILLE — The Jacksonville Icemen and Swamp Rabbits played a scoreless two periods before 3,487 at Veterans; Memorial Arena before Matt Bradley lit the lamp for Greenville with 2:04 to play in the game.

Jake Massie picked up the assist on the game winner and Bradley’s fourth goal of he season.

Kyle Keyser made 29 saves in goal for Jacksonville (6-9-1-1).

Ryan Bednard minded the net for Greenville (8-4-5-2). He had 20 stops.

In the third, Jacksonville outshot Greenville 13-10, and Bednard answered with several key saves from point-blank chances. Bednard made a climatic save with over two minutes left on Icemen captain Wacey Rabbit at the net front after a centering feed from club points leader Nick Saracino.

Seconds later, Greenville transitioned north and Massie feathered a perfect head-man pass onto Bradley’s tape. Going to the net, Bradley roofed his shot for the win.

Jacksonville’s next game is Feb. 14 at South Carolina. The Greenville Swamp Rabbits will return home on Thursday night to open three games in four nights, all against the Orlando Solar Bears,
