Outback Bowl, Cheez-It Bowl, Vrbo Citrus, TaxSlayer Gator Bowls Announce Schedules

TAMPA – Game dates and kickoff times for this season’s Outback Bowl, Cheez-It Bowl and Vrbo Citrus Bowl were announced this morning as part of ESPN’s 2020-21 college football bowl schedule release.

The 35th Anniversary Outback Bowl Game is scheduled to be played on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021at Raymond James Stadium. The game will kick off at 12:30 PM ET on ABC TV. It will continue its tradition of playing in January for the 34th consecutive year.

In last year’s Outback Bowl, Alabama defeated Michigan 35-16, with Crimson Tide wide receiver Jerry Jeudy, a first-round pick of the Denver Broncos, taking home MVP honors. Outback is already the longest title sponsor in college bowl game history celebrating its 26th year with the bowl.

The 2020 Cheez-It Bowl, featuring top teams from the Atlantic Coast Conference and Big 12, will take place Tuesday, Dec. 29 at 5:30 p.m. ET at Camping World Stadium and will be broadcast on ESPN.

The 75th Vrbo Citrus Bowl, pitting the SEC against the Big Ten, will be played in its traditional New Year’s Day timeslot, kicking off at 1 p.m. ET on Friday, Jan. 1 on ABC.

This bowl season will mark Cheez-It’s first as an Orlando bowl title sponsor. In last year’s game, then known as the Camping World Bowl, Notre Dame defeated Iowa State 33-9 behind 146 receiving yards and a touchdown from game MVP Chase Claypool, now with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Details on stadium seating capacity and other stadium protocols for the bowl games will be announced in the coming weeks. Tickets are expected to on sale to the public in December through Ticketmaster with details to come.

The TaxSlayer Gator Bowl will be played Jan. 2 an noon at TIAA Bank Field.
