ARENA: Sharks Battle NAL Rival in Regular Season Matchup Saturday

JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Sharks (5-1) are returning home on a five-game win streak after defeating the Orlando Predators (2-6) 48-20 in Orlando.

The Sharks have dominated their rival out scoring them 109 to 27.

This week the Sharks take on a new rival, one that was formed in the NAL, The Columbus Lions (2-4).. The Lions have been to the last  two Championship games but have yet to defeat the Sharks in Shark tank.

The Sharks five-game win streak is not the only streak on the line this week. Wide receiver, Devin Wilson, has caught at least one touchdown pass in the last eight games that he has been active.

Shortly behind Wilson is Durron Neal who has seven consecutive touchdown receptions games.

Between the two players, both have touchdown streaks leading back to last season. Defensive back, Seth Ellis, has a streak of his own.

Since returning to the Sharks, he has had an interception in each of his five games this year.

Sharks Players to watch this week include Durron Neal and Jarmon Fortson who both played well earlier this year against their former team. In Week 2 against the Lions, the duo combined for 11 receptions for 104 yards and three TDs.

A Lions player to watch is QB Luke Collis. Collis has had an interesting year, throwing for the second-most passing yards, the fourth-most passing touchdowns, and the most interceptions in the league. Collis has games where he struggles, but he can also have games where he stands out and shines bright.  The Sharks defensive line will have a lot to say in how Collis performs.

Saturday’s game will start at 7 p.m. and will be streamed live on the National Arena League YouTube channel.

The Sharks will also post a direct link to the stream on game day on the team’s social media pages.
